YOU -our peers, our friends, our partners - make us who we are and help us get where we need to go.
EuroNPUD is an organisation built by and for our community. Although EuroNPUD is relatively young network in 2017, there are still many things you can do to support our work, wherever it is around Europe, either through our organisation or your local or national drug user network. Here is a few ideas!
Get in touch with EuroNPUD or your national drug user network to find out where your local drug user group is located. Volunteers are central to any grassroots organisation and drug user groups are no different. Many groups offer training and education, public speaking and presenting opportunities , as well as campaigning and even travel and work opportunties. Do you have ideas, time, energy you want to give to a local cause? Drug user groups often work in partnership with many health / drug treatment /peer support services and many more services are now employing more people who use/or used drugs. There should be opportunities for work and volunteering for people on OST (eg: methadone etc), street users and former drug users -and if they're aren't, then what can you do to change it?!
Campaign, Campaign, Campaign!
Join up with your local or national drug user group and campaign on an issue such as access to drug consumption rooms, needle and syringe provision in prisons, a wider choice of opiate substitution treatments such as diamorphine (heroin), peer led projects to educate on health issues such as overdose prevention and naloxone provision etc.
Maybe you are looking to help out more on the European level within EuroNPUD itself - while also learning more about the work we do? There is always something you can do, particularly if you have useful skills. We understand that people who use drugs have many valuable life experiences, as well as unique insights and perspectives into drug using cultures, a rare ability to find and access often hidden or underground communities of drug users, and an innate understanding of a 'street' language often privy only to other drug users but invaluable when imparting health advice and education, for example. So even if you have been out of work for some time, you still have special skills to offer your community and society as a whole.
Do you have something to say about the situation for drug users in your European country or town? Do you have views on harm reduction and what your city should or could be doing? Are you part of a group or network that is doing impressive or innovative projects and want to tell others about it? Then please do consider submitting writing or artwork to our blog or getting in touch with us about reporting for the drug user press.
Share any of the educational materials on our site with your peers, get in touch with your local or national drug user organisation, let local, national and regional NGOs know about your work and your groups views and how you can partner up to promote change.

You might be able to imagine that the cause of drug user emancipation isn't always that popular or properly understood by governments or funders, which is why we always need, and are most appreciative off, donations! We can’t do much without money these days, so any amount is helpful! (NOTE: We are currently arranging simple ways to donate to EuroNPUD and our campaigns, so stay tuned and check back here soon for details on donating).
